How to Tie the Cheech Leech

   Step 1

   Start with the rear hook. Secure in the vise and start the thread. Create a dubbing loop with Mega Simi Seal dubbing and wrap to form a bushy tail and rear body.

   Use a Velcro or comb tool to brush out the Simi Seal fibers for maximum movement.

   Step 2

   Palmer the black Palmer Chenille through the rear body. Add a few strands of Grizzly Krystal Flash. Whip finish the rear hook.

   Step 3

   Thread the articulation wire through the rear hook eye, add an articulation bead, and connect to the front hook. Secure the front hook in the vise.

   Step 4

   Start the thread on the front hook. Tie in the streamer eyes on top of the shank behind the eye using figure-eight wraps. Apply super glue to secure.

   Step 5

   Create another dubbing loop with Simi Seal dubbing and wrap the front body. Palmer more black Palmer Chenille through. Add silicone legs on each side.

   Step 6

   Tie in black and claret marabou as a collar behind the eyes. Build the head with dubbing around the eyes. Whip finish and apply UV resin or head cement to the thread head for durability.
