Materials
Fulling Mill 5140 Jig Force Straight Point, size 14
Copper slotted tungsten bead, 3.8mm
Danville 6/0 Waxed Flymaster 70 denier, brown
Spanish Coq De Leon Pardo fibers
Semperfli tying wire, 0.1mm copper
Ice Dub, Pheasant Tail
Sparkle Emerger Yarn, clear white
Solarez UV Cure Resin, thin hard
How to Tie the Daily Fly

Step 1
Slide the copper tungsten bead onto the jig hook and secure in the vise. Start the thread behind the bead.

Tie in a short tail of Coq De Leon fibers at the bend, keeping them sparse and about one hook-gap length.
Keep the tail sparse for a natural, slim profile.

Tie in the copper wire at the tail tie-in point.

Apply a thin dubbing noodle of Pheasant Tail Ice Dub and wrap a slim, slightly tapered body forward to the thorax area.

Counter-wrap the copper wire forward as ribbing, making 4-5 evenly spaced wraps, tie off and trim.

Dub a slightly bulkier thorax with Pheasant Tail Ice Dub.

Cut a short tuft of Sparkle Emerger Yarn and tie it on top as a small wing, leaving it projecting upward and slightly rearward.

Build a neat thread head behind the bead, whip finish, and trim.

Apply a thin coat of UV resin over the thorax and wingcase area, cure with a UV light for a durable finish.
