Up-eye salmon hook, sizes 8-12
Black 6/0 or 8/0
X-small silver French tinsel
Red floss
Golden pheasant crest
Black floss
Small silver French tinsel
Kingfisher blue hen neck hackle
Moose body hair
How to Tie the None Of Your Business

Step 1
Secure the up-eye salmon hook in the vise. Start black thread and wrap to the bend.

Step 2
Tie in a small tag of silver French tinsel at the very rear of the hook. Wrap 3-4 turns and tie off.

Step 3
Tie in red floss and form a small butt directly in front of the tag. Tie off and trim.

Tie in a golden pheasant crest feather curving upward as the tail.

Tie in silver French tinsel for the rib, then tie in black floss and wrap forward to form a smooth body. Leave room for hackle and wing.

Spiral the silver tinsel forward as a rib in even turns. Tie off.

Step 7
Tie in a kingfisher blue hen hackle by the butt and make 2-3 wraps as a collar. Sweep fibers rearward and tie off.
The blue hackle is the signature element — keep it sparse.

Step 8
Clean and stack a small bunch of moose body hair. Tie in as a wing extending to the tail. Build a neat head, whip finish, and cement.
