Nymph 3XL hook, size 6-10

Thread

Brown or black 6/0

Weight

Lead-free wire .025-.030

Body

Variegated chenille, coffee/black or brown/olive

Legs

Brown or black round rubber legs

Step 1
Secure the hook in the vise. Wrap 20-25 turns of lead-free wire on the shank. Secure with thread.

Start thread and build ramps over the lead wraps for a smooth underbody.

Tie in variegated chenille at the bend.

At the 1/3 point from the bend, tie in two rubber legs on each side (crossing through the chenille).

Continue wrapping chenille forward. At the 2/3 point, tie in another set of rubber legs.

Finish wrapping chenille to just behind the eye. Tie off.

Step 7
Whip finish and apply head cement. Trim legs to about 1.5x the hook gap on each side.
