Perdigon (Peacock/Pearl)
The peacock/pearl variant of the Perdigon uses iridescent peacock-colored materials for extra flash and attraction. The shimmering body combined with the classic slim Perdigon profile makes it highly effective in variable light conditions.

Materials
Barbless jig or competition hook, size 12-18
Tungsten bead 2.5-3.3mm, black nickel or copper
Black Veevus 8/0 or 14/0
Hot orange thread (e.g., Veevus 104d) for collar
Coq de León fibers, 3-5 strands
Peacock-colored Mylar tinsel, Super Sparkle Thread green, or Peacock Crystal Flash
Fine silver or gold tinsel for extra segmentation
UV resin (Loon Flow or Solarez Bone Dry)
How to Tie the Perdigon (Peacock/Pearl)

Step 1
Place the tungsten bead onto the hook and secure in the vise.

Optionally add a few wraps of fine lead wire behind the bead for extra weight.

Start black thread behind the bead and wrap a smooth base back to above the hook bend.

Select 3-5 Coq de León fibers and tie in as a tail, about half the hook shank length.
Keep the tail sparse for the classic Perdigon silhouette.

Tie in peacock Mylar tinsel or Crystal Flash at the base of the tail on top of the shank.

Wrap thread forward to form a smooth, slightly tapered underbody.

Wind the peacock/pearl body material forward in touching turns to just behind the bead. Secure and trim excess.
Ensure flash material stays on top for maximum reflection.

Add a few wraps of bright orange thread behind the bead for a hotspot collar.

Whip finish. Apply an even coat of UV resin over the entire body and cure with UV torch.
Don't over-dress—the slim, hard, glossy finish is what makes the Perdigon so effective.
