How to Tie the Prince Nymph

   Step 1

   Slide a gold bead on and secure the hook. Start thread behind the bead and wrap to the bend.

   Step 2

   Tie in two brown goose biots at the bend, split in a V for the tail.

   Step 3

   Tie in fine gold wire at the bend for the rib.

   Step 4

   Tie in 3-4 strands of peacock herl at the bend. Twist them into a rope.

   Step 5

   Wrap the peacock herl rope forward to form the body, leaving room for the hackle and wing. Tie off.

   Step 6

   Counter-wrap the gold wire through the body for reinforcement. Tie off.

   Step 7

   Tie in a brown hen hackle and make 1-2 wraps for a sparse collar. Tie off and trim.

   Step 8

   Tie in two white goose biots on top, one on each side, angled rearward in a V-shape.

   The white biots should extend to about the midpoint of the body and angle outward at roughly 45 degrees.

   Step 9

   Build a neat head behind the bead, whip finish, and apply head cement.
