Roza's French Bomb is a fast-sinking Euro nymph developed by competitive angler Lubos Roza. Its simple construction makes it beginner-friendly, yet it's devastatingly effective in pressured and unpressured water alike. The tungsten jig bead, slim peacock Ice Dub body, and fluorescent pink hot spot make it a year-round searching pattern.

Fulling Mill Tungsten Jig Back, 3.5mm silver
UTC Ultra Thread 70 denier, black
Strung Chinese Saddle Hackle fibers, black
Ice Dub, Peacock
Ice Dub, Fluorescent Shell Pink
How to Tie the Roza's French Bomb

Step 1
Slide the tungsten jig bead onto the hook and secure in the vise.

Start the black thread behind the bead and wrap a smooth base to the bend.

Step 3
Select a few fibers from a black saddle hackle and tie them in as a sparse tail at the bend, keeping them short.
The tail should be sparse — just 4-6 fibers for a sleek profile.

Step 4
Create a thin dubbing noodle with Peacock Ice Dub and wrap it forward to form a slim, slightly tapered body stopping about 2mm behind the bead.

Step 5
Apply a small amount of Fluorescent Shell Pink Ice Dub as a hot spot collar directly behind the bead.
Use very little pink dubbing — the hot spot should be a subtle trigger, not overwhelming.

Build a neat thread head behind the bead, whip finish, and apply head cement.
