Materials
Dry fly hook, size 18-24
Gray or olive 8/0
Dun hackle fibers, split
Adams gray or beaver dubbing
Natural CDC feather, split
How to Tie the RS2

Step 1
Secure the hook. Start thread and wrap to the bend.

Step 2
Tie in a small clump of dun hackle fibers. Split them into two bunches with figure-eight wraps.

Step 3
Dub a slim body of gray dubbing from the tail to about 1/4 from the eye.

Step 4
Select a CDC feather with fibers extending past the hook bend.

Step 5
Tie in the CDC feather on top of the shank, tips extending rearward.

Step 6
Split the CDC into two wings using cross-wraps.

Step 7
Build a small thorax of dubbing around the wing base, whip finish, and cement.
