Materials
3XL nymph hook (TMC 5263 or Daiichi 1720), size 4-12
Tungsten bead 5/32", black nickel
Lead-free wire .015-.025, wrapped on shank
Brown 140 denier or 6/0
Brown or barred rubber legs, single strand per side
Variegated chenille, medium, seal brown/ginger or brown/yellow
Brown or barred round rubber legs, 3 pairs (Spanflex or Sexi Floss)
Same rubber leg material, short pair at head
How to Tie the Rubber Legs Stone - Brown

Step 1
Slide bead onto hook if using. Secure the hook and wrap lead-free wire for weight. Start thread and cover wire wraps.

At the bend, tie in one strand of rubber leg material across the shank for a splayed tail.

Tie in variegated chenille at the tail base.

Step 4
Wrap chenille forward 1/3 of the shank. Tie in the first pair of legs using figure-eight wraps.

Continue chenille forward another 1/3. Add second pair of legs.

Wrap chenille to behind the bead or eye. Add front legs or antennae.

Tie off chenille. Build a thread head, whip finish, and apply head cement.

Trim all legs and tails to 1-1.5 hook-shank lengths.
For a jig-style variant, use a 60-degree jig hook with slotted tungsten bead to ride hook-point-up and reduce snags.
