Materials
Gamakatsu B10S, size 2
Gamakatsu B10S, size 1/0
Danville Flat Waxed Nylon, 140 denier, olive
Barred rabbit strip, olive
UV Polar Chenille, olive
Pearl Crinkle Flash
Olive schlappen feather
3D Molded Eyes, yellow/black
Senyo Intruder trailer hook wire and articulation beads
How to Tie the Snot Goblin

Step 1
Set up the rear hook in the vise. Start thread and tie in a barred olive rabbit strip for the tail, about 2-3 inches long.

Step 2
Wrap UV Polar Chenille forward along the shank to build bulk and flash. Tie off behind the eye.

Add 4-6 strands of Pearl Crinkle Flash along each side of the body.

Wrap an olive schlappen feather as a collar, sweeping fibers rearward. Whip finish.

Step 5
Set up the front hook with the articulation wire connecting to the rear hook. Add articulation beads between the hooks.
Leave enough space between hooks for the fly to articulate freely — this is what gives it the swimming action.

On the front hook, repeat the body construction: UV Polar Chenille, flash, and schlappen collar.

Attach 3D molded eyes to the sides of the head with UV resin or superglue.

Step 8
Build up a thread head, whip finish, and coat the head with UV resin for durability.
