How to Tie the Stimulator

   Step 1

   Secure hook in vise. Start thread at the mid-point and wrap back to the bend.

   Step 2

   Tie in a short clump of elk hair as a tail, about half the hook gap in length.

   Step 3

   Tie in fine gold wire for the rear rib.

   Step 4

   Tie in a grizzly hackle for the rear palmered hackle.

   Step 5

   Dub an orange body over the rear 2/3 of the shank.

   Step 6

   Palmer the grizzly hackle over the rear body, 4-5 wraps. Secure with the gold wire counter-wraps.

   Step 7

   Cut and stack a clump of elk hair. Tie it in as a tent wing at the junction of rear and front body segments.

   Step 8

   Tie in another grizzly hackle for the front section.

   Step 9

   Dub a front thorax of the same orange dubbing.

    Step 10

    Palmer the front hackle over the thorax. Tie off behind the eye.

    Step 11

    Build a neat head, whip finish, and apply head cement.
