Hook

Scud or nymph hook, size 12-16

Bead

Gold brass bead, 2.8mm

Thread

Tan 6/0

Body

Hare's Ear Plus dubbing, natural

Copper wire, small

Step 1
Slide a brass bead onto the hook and secure in the vise.

Start thread behind the bead and wrap to the bend.

Tie in a piece of small copper wire at the bend.

Step 4
Create a dubbing loop and load it with Hare's Ear Plus dubbing. Spin it tight.
Use extra-shaggy dubbing with lots of guard hairs for maximum bugginess.

Wrap the dubbing loop forward to form a full, shaggy body. Tie off behind the bead.

Step 6
Wrap the copper wire rib forward in 4-5 turns. Tie off.

Step 7
Whip finish. Pick out the dubbing with a dubbing needle for a buggy appearance.
