Weinermobile Hopper
The Weinermobile Hopper from Fly Fish Food is an innovative terrestrial hopper pattern with a unique cylindrical foam body that provides exceptional flotation. The combination of brown and orange foam creates high visibility, while the spandex legs give natural movement. This fly rides high and can even skate across the surface.

How to Tie the Weinermobile Hopper
- 1
Step 1
Use a cylindrical foam cutter to shape both the brown and orange foam blocks into the main body pieces. Glue them together with the orange layer on the bottom for contrast.
- 2
Step 2
Place the hook in the vise and start the heavy 140 denier thread, building a smooth base.
- 3
Step 3
Mount the cylindrical foam body onto the hook shank using tight thread wraps, ensuring it is centered and secure.
- 4
Step 4
Apply Bruiser Blend dubbing around the hook shank where it meets the foam for a buggy underbody.
- 5
Step 5
Tie in a post of EP Trigger Point fibers on top of the body for visibility as a strike indicator.
Keep the post short and upright for best visibility on the water.
- 6
Step 6
Attach Life-Flex spandex legs on each side of the body, adjusting length for a natural appearance.
- 7
Step 7
Secure all materials with tight thread wraps, whip finish behind the eye, and cement the head.
- 8
Step 8
Trim the foam body and legs to desired proportions and shape.
