How Fly Tying Inventory collects, uses, and protects information for the website and native app.

Fly Tying Inventory helps you track fly tying materials, build shopping lists, identify materials from photos, and share fly patterns. This policy explains what we collect and why.

Information we collect

  • Account information: email address, name or display name, authentication identifiers, and related account settings.
  • User content: inventory items, shopping list items, custom materials, custom patterns, pattern steps, notes, workbench entries, feedback, and any text you choose to enter.
  • Photos and camera input: photos you upload or capture for Photo Identify, material images, pattern images, and barcode scans when you use those features.
  • Usage and diagnostics: product interaction events, session identifiers, device/browser details, performance data, error logs, and basic analytics.
  • Communications: support requests, feedback, and replies sent through the app or email.

How we use information

  • Provide core inventory, shopping list, barcode scanning, Photo Identify, pattern matching, sharing, and community features.
  • Authenticate accounts, secure user data, prevent abuse, and operate admin/support workflows.
  • Analyze app reliability, performance, and feature usage so we can improve the product.
  • Send account, support, feedback, and product-related messages when needed.

Third-party processors

We use service providers to operate the app:

  • Supabase for authentication, database hosting, storage, and related infrastructure.
  • Vercel for hosting, serverless APIs, Vercel Analytics, Speed Insights, logs, and performance diagnostics.
  • Fathom Analytics for privacy-focused website analytics.
  • Resend for transactional and support email delivery.
  • AI/photo processing providers when you use Photo Identify or related image features.
  • AvantLink for affiliate attribution on the website only. AvantLink is disabled inside the native app.

Sharing and public content

Your private inventory, shopping list, and workbench data are not public. If you choose to share a custom pattern, submit it for community approval, or open a public share link, the pattern content and display name you provide may be visible to others.

Retention and deletion

We retain account and user content while your account is active or as needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, and maintain backups. You can request deletion from in-app Settings when account deletion is available, or contact us at support@flytyinginventory.com.

Your choices

  • You can edit or delete many materials, shopping list items, and custom patterns in the app.
  • You can choose whether to submit or publicly share custom patterns.
  • You can choose not to use camera, barcode, or Photo Identify features.
  • You can contact support to ask about access, correction, or deletion of your data.
