Common questions
How do I add materials?
Open Inventory, choose Add Material, then search the catalog or create a custom material. You can also use barcode scanning where available.
Can I import the list I already keep?
Yes. Open Inventory and choose Import, then upload an Excel workbook (.xlsx) or a CSV file with any column layout. You check how your columns were read, review every row (each is linked to a catalog material where the match is clear, or kept as your own private item) and only then import. You can undo an import afterwards.
How does Photo Identify work?
Photo Identify lets you photograph fly tying materials and review suggested matches before adding anything to your inventory. You remain in control of what gets saved.
How do I share patterns?
New patterns are public by default. Open a pattern and use the share buttons under its title to copy its link or post it to Facebook, Instagram, X, or email. To keep a pattern to yourself, choose Private from the Public menu beside those buttons. To list a pattern in the Community library, use Submit to Community; an admin reviews it first.
How do likes work?
Signed-in members can like other people's public patterns, from the pattern page or from New on the Patterns page. A pattern shows how many likes it has, not who liked it, and you can take a like back any time.
What is Top Tyers?
A monthly board of the most active tyers, for signed-in members. You earn points for sharing patterns, the likes and visits they get, liking other people's patterns, adding materials, and marking flies tied. It shows a generated nickname unless you choose your credit name, and you can hide from it in Settings. The top 3 each month earn the Top Tyer badge.
What are badges?
Badges thank you for contributing: saving and sharing patterns, getting them accepted into the Community library, people visiting and liking your public patterns, stocking your bench, and finishing in the top 3 of Top Tyers. Most are awarded on their own; a few are given by our team. Your top badge shows next to your name on your public patterns. See yours under Badges in the app menu.
How do I delete my account?
Use the account deletion option in Settings, or contact support@flytyinginventory.com for help with deletion requests.
How do I report a public pattern?
Choose Report this pattern beneath the sharing controls on an Explore or shared-pattern page. Reports go directly to the moderation inbox. You can also email support@flytyinginventory.com.
